Alicante
30 minutes drive north will take you to Alicante. Alicante is capital
of the province and is a beautiful elegant city with a modern habour
development of sophisticated restaurants and bars built around a marina.
Alicante's waterfront promenade is one of the most beautiful in Spain
where the broad path of wavy coloured tiles runs between towering
palms, making a shady place to observe Spanish city life over a cool
beer or an ice cream. |

Santa
Pola
Ten minutes south of Alicante brings you to Santa Pola, a lively
fishing port now popular for its beautiful sandy beaches. From here
you will also be able to take a half hour boat ride to Isla de Tabarca
now a marine reserve but also a very good spot for snorkelling.

Guardamar
About 15 minutes from Casa De Naranja lies the old town of Guardamar
with its ancient Moorish defence fort towering above the town. The
beach here is 17kms long with soft sandy dunes running down to the
sea. |

Torrevieja
In Torrevieja you will find one of the largest street markets in
Europe where you can buy everything from fresh fruit and vegetables
to hand made or leather goods.
