Alicante
30 minutes drive north will take you to Alicante. Alicante is capital of the province and is a beautiful elegant city with a modern habour development of sophisticated restaurants and bars built around a marina. Alicante's waterfront promenade is one of the most beautiful in Spain where the broad path of wavy coloured tiles runs between towering palms, making a shady place to observe Spanish city life over a cool beer or an ice cream.

Santa Pola
Ten minutes south of Alicante brings you to Santa Pola, a lively fishing port now popular for its beautiful sandy beaches. From here you will also be able to take a half hour boat ride to Isla de Tabarca now a marine reserve but also a very good spot for snorkelling.

Guardamar
About 15 minutes from Casa De Naranja lies the old town of Guardamar with its ancient Moorish defence fort towering above the town. The beach here is 17kms long with soft sandy dunes running down to the sea.

Torrevieja
In Torrevieja you will find one of the largest street markets in Europe where you can buy everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to hand made or leather goods.
